Our K-5 school is located in an urban school district, where 100% of the students receive free breakfast and lunch. The mission of our school is to provide our students with a well-rounded education and encourage students to reach their highest potential.
My kindergarten is composed of 25 highly enthusiastic and inquisitive 5 and 6 year olds.
They are always willing to try new things and want to do their best every day. We are always looking for creative ways to use our limited supplies.
My Project
Our district has dealt with budget cuts for a number of years. Even basic supplies are sometimes difficult to provide. The parents send in as much as they can, but, the need is still great.
Having new scissors, erasers, paper, and sheet protectors would provide my Kindergarten students with some of the basics they need to succeed.
The manila paper can be used in a variety of ways because it doesn't have any lines. The students can use it for writing and drawing. Having a few basic colors of construction paper will allow the students the opportunity to create a few simple projects. Scissors, erasers, and sheet protectors will be used for seat work daily.
