I am an Algebra 1 and 2 teacher in a large urban school district. I work mostly with juniors teaching Algebra 2 and a smaller group of students working on repeating Algebra 1. I work in an environment where many of my students face as many challenges inside the classroom as they do outside the classroom.
My students are bright, energetic, and enthusiastic.
I would like to be able to give them full access to supplies to make all their learning experiences as engaging as possible. Working in a low-income school district can make this difficult at times since supplies are limited.
My Project
I am a first-year teacher in an urban school district. I have spent most of the year traveling and using different supplies within different teachers' classrooms. I am now getting a room of my own and lacking in some basic supplies. I work in a low-income school district and supplies are hard to come by such as pencils, markers, rulers and graph paper. Algebra 2 has a lot of graphing, making something such as a class set of rules essential! As a first-year teacher my resources are limited and I'm hoping this project will be a good start.
