This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come from a low income area. They are unable to provide basic school supplies and the school district does not have a budget that allows the students to have these basic supplies. I teach students with disabilities making them struggle to learn. Having these basic needs such as paper and arts and crafts supplies will allow my students every opportunity to be able to learn in many different ways and to learn really effectively. Having these basic supplies will allow lessons to come alive for my students.
My Project
Having these materials such as paint and construction paper will allow my special needs students to be able to complete hands on learning. My students have different levels of learning disabilities which makes learning new topics or ideas difficult for them. In order to make sure students get to experience learning, lessons need to be given in many ways such as hands on, orally, and visually. Paint, hands on buzzers, construction paper, and reading strips will allow my students to stay engaged, while learning new topics in a way that is effective for each student in there own individual way.
