This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in a Title I school where 90 % of my students are on free or reduce lunch. Parents live from paycheck to paycheck and can only provide the basic necessities for their kids. Besides the daily challenges they were all ready facing, Hurricane Harvey also left a massive destruction in our community. Some of my students have lost their houses due to Hurricane Harvey; some others have relatives living with them. The reality that these students face is unfair. However, my students are hardworking and come to school everyday ready to learn.

My Project

We are starting the last half of the year, and we need some basic school supplies to make it to the end of the year. We are in drastic need of disinfectant spray because of the flu. My students are always in need of pencils, we seem to be going through them like crazy. The poly folders and binders would replace the torn paper ones that they have been using. The HP Sprocket Printer and paper for the pictures are going to be used for their science and math journals. We also need 2 mobile storage bins and paper trays to organize our centers. My students are visual learners having a picture of the activity of what they did and using the fun gel pens and vinyl will make learning fun and they are more likely to remember it.
