Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are eager to learn and create in the art room, but now that we are halfway through the year our materials are winding down. We're out of crayons and small brushes and almost out of paper! My students range from Kindergarten through the 8th grade, but this project is for 6th-8th grade. My students are a curious, talented, fabulous group of kids. They are all bilingual in English and Spanish, and come from an at-risk area, where all of my students qualify for a free lunch.
My Project
My middle school students are learning how to paint, but we only have limited large sized brushes. Students get frustrated when they cannot paint small details on their paintings using the large sized brushes we have on hand.
My students are also finishing their clay projects, but we need glaze to paint them.
They have been very excited to finally get to create with clay. However, we are very short on glaze to make their final projects look glossy.
Please help us reach our goal so that our kids can reach their full potential in the creative world of art.
