Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are warriors! Every day over 500 students come to school despite facing the everyday challenges of living in impoverished urban environment. 100% of the students fall below the poverty line and in my classroom specifically half of my students are English language learners. They are dedicated to their education and love learning. They are beautiful and capable students who deserve every opportunity. All 23 of my students have overcome great obstacles to be where they are today. They have worked hard on critical skills to make them successful in the classroom as well as within themselves. My students are more than just students, we are a family.
My Project
Our classroom desperately needs basic classroom supplies. We currently have broken crayons and run down supplies this late in the year. My students need the basics...new crayons and markers. Crayola products are simply the best... they are bright, vivid, and color true and children love bright colors. They are easy for little hands to grip, help with fine motor control, and they don't break easily. The children color and write everyday and they go through a lot of crayons and pencils in a school year's time.
All children love to color and write.
Crayons are a great tool for children to express creativity. They love to use them for art projects and everyday class work. Crayons, pencils, and a child's imagination equal pure magic!
