My Students
I teach at an inner city school in St. Louis where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. The school provides the bare minimum supplies. Teachers and great donors like you provide the rest of what my students need to be successful.
My kiddos come to school every day happy to be there and ready to learn!
They are funny, honest, caring, and smart! While I have students who are reluctant to try, I also have students that are driven to excel. Students entering my classroom are challenged to be the best version of themselves. Sure we have off days but we truly are working to build world citizens that are smart, kind, and capable. In our classroom community, we all help each other succeed. I am forever grateful for the students that I have been chosen to help grow, and the parents that collaborate with me.
My Project
Hello! Thank you for checking out our classroom project. When I took stock of things that would make our classroom run smoothly and I asked my students what they thought we needed most the answers were very similar. Copy paper, construction paper, pencils, glue and crayons were all at the top of their lists.
My kiddos love to do projects, but we always seem to run out of what we need to complete them.
I believe that when students get to express themselves creatively, they have more ownership of their work. Students retain information better and can apply what they have learned.
We use copy paper for copies of course, but we also use it for directed drawing material. Students love having new pencils and we go through a lot of them! Construction paper and glue are critical for projects. I love the class packs of colored pencils and crayons so I can give out just what is needed and not find that students end up without the one color they needed when it's time. Finally we will use lamination pouches to protect student work and make quick center activities for small group instruction.
