Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Where does one begin?! I am a proud teacher of 140 of the most creative, innovative, and resilient students that I have ever met. Daily, I learn how to go with the flow and bounce back from ANYTHING. As my students recover from Hurricane Harvey, they are teaching me to appreciate life no matter how rough it seems. They also teach me that we can make some of the most beautiful works of writing with the bare minimum. Together we are learning how to live post Hurricane Harvey and build from the ground up.
My Project
When students have the basic needs to learn such as paper and pencils, they are prepared and more eager to start the day's journey. When students do not have basic needs, their self esteem dwindles and they are less likely to receive instruction because they are focused on things out of their control. Our students need basic school supplies to maximize their productivity. By having a printer in class, I am able to use educational sources outside of our textbook to help students understand the learning concept using 21st century topics and topics that are relevant to them. Our community is trying to rebuild post Hurricane Harvey and our students are in need of the things to keep our willing and eager students prepared. Please help our students with the minimum so they can put forth their MAXIMUM EFFORTS!
