Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a first-year teacher and am eager to have my first classroom. My school is in an urban area where most students' families are below the poverty level. My hope is that I can provide a warm and welcoming classroom where they feel safe. I would love to have many resources and supplies to make my students' learning fun and successful!
I know my students would be able to express themselves to the fullest and be their most creative in a safe space.
It is their joy and zest for learning that inspires me the most as an educator.
My Project
My students love coming into the artroom each week and working on a creative project using all the supplies we have available. Unfortunately, with the small budget we have for supplies I am unable to order a lot at the beginning of the year and I am starting to run out of somethings. This means lack of color as we run out of certain colors of markers and colored pencils and smallers works of art as our paper count depletes.
We need paper, markers, colored pencils, and erasers, the basics of any artroom.
Without these supplies it will be hard for students to continue to make beautiful works of art until the end of the year.
