Help me give my students pencils, erasers, and paper! My students go through these items incredibly fast as more than half come to my class needing supplies to make it through the day.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are predominately Latino and Black. They come from a known not-so-good-neighborhood in Las Vegas. We have students who have ended up in incarceration, students who are in foster care, students who are homeless or are refugees. A third of our students have attended 4 or more schools in their short educational careers. At least 35% of our students live in a single-parent household and 45% speak a language other than English at home.
Our students have all the cards stacked up against them when it comes to academics, but each one of them just wants to be loved, understood, and they truly want to succeed.
Despite the challenges my students face due to their life situations, they do have those three basic commonalities that all children do. My students also have a wonderful sense of humor, they are highly intelligent for knowing how to maneuver different languages and different environments, and they have a strong desire to be a part of a positive community. They yearn for belonging and here at our Middle School, they do belong.
My Project
The project I am working on right now is to get basic supplies that my students ask me for on a daily basis. I supply these regularly, but it would be incredible to have a generous supply that the students can use to ensure their success.
With pencils, erasers, and paper my students will not have to worry about falling behind because they don't have the means to purchase the necessary materials for school.
This will allow class to continue as planned and learning to continue. In order for learning to happen, students need to know that there are no barriers to achieve in the classroom, and if that means supplying the papers and pencils every day, then that is what I will try to do for them.
