Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from diverse backgrounds of experiences and families.
Each and every one brings something special to the classroom.
Many of my students are bilingual, or are learning English for the very first time. I am so proud of the students who have worked to translate with them or created a welcome environment for all backgrounds.
Coming to middle school for the very first time, they are all so excited to learn about STEM oriented fields. I hope to give them an enriching environment!
My Project
I have been so fortunate to have such a wonderful group of sixth graders this year.
My students have worked so hard since September, and should not have access to basic supplies be a barrier to learning.
The items that are requested in the cart help for everyday lessons and learning. I have learned that just having a pencil and a pen ready for each child gives them one less item to stress over. We also use lots of glue for interactive notebooks, and the toner helps me provide regular handouts and worksheets to enhance learning. These supplies should help us get through the winter!
