Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach at a very diverse Title I school in the inner city, which serves students in grades PreK-5 and provides rigorous academics and a safe learning environment. All children receive free breakfast and lunch due to this neighborhood's socioeconomic status. They come from a wonderful mix of ethnic and economic backgrounds, and despite any challenges that my students may face, they come to school daily prepared to do their best.
Each morning my students actively come into our classroom eager and excited to start a new day of learning.
They walk into the classroom bursting with energy, creativity and full of life. My students truly inspire me with their passion and insatiable love for learning.
My Project
The materials that I am requesting are basic classroom supplies: colored paper, markers, tape, glue, all necessary for my students to complete their assignments. At the end of most lessons, my students enjoy completing a project. They write, they draw, and they create! The colored paper, markers, and glue sticks will be used by my students, so that they may complete their classroom assignments. My students will also have access to the colored tape during our S.T.E.M. challenges and art projects. The incentive recognition seals will be used to add to their recognition certificates at the end of each grading period.
Giving my students basic classroom supplies will ensure that all of my students have the materials they need in order to learn.
