Help me give my students the basic needs to succeed! My students need to replenish their every day supplies so that we can do hands-on projects and different learning activities to be fully engaged!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am a fourth grade teacher and my focus is on teaching math and science to children in Southwest Virginia. This will be my third year teaching at a Title I school with majority of my students living in varying amounts of poverty, one hundred percent of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch. Due to this, our students lack the resources to adequately supply things for themselves. Regardless of where our students may come from or what their backgrounds are, our students are full of diversity, imagination, and lots of energy!
I teach my students to not only come to school to better themselves academically, but to become their best self in all aspect of their lives.
My goal for this project is to provide my students with everything they need to be successful both inside and outside of the classroom. In my classroom I incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating to ensure that each students needs are met, whatever that may be. My students deserve nothing but the best and more!
My Project
All classrooms need fundamental materials to function all year long. Unfortunately, we are already starting to run low on our basic classroom supplies.
Students feel more comfortable and at ease while learning when their basic needs are met in the classroom.
Some of these supplies include materials that students can write with, such as: pencils, expo markers, or markers. This gives students the opportunity to make whatever it is they are working on more creative and individualized. This project also includes a pencil sharpener to allow students to always be prepared for learning. It will supply our classroom with paper to show work, solve problems, collaborate, or to create their very own work of art. These supplies allow my students to produce and present their best work without having to worry about the "small stuff". Every student of mine deserves to have the opportunity to create their own learning experience!
