Our district is one of the most diverse in the nation. Our students come from a variety of cultural and religious backgrounds, speak multiple languages and perform on a wide range of academic abilities. It is amazing to educate children who are so different from one another. They have some of the most fun and vibrant personalities and I am excited everyday I am able to work with them. I have never met more hardworking students!
With all of the demands we put on our young students, they deserve a chance to learn through hands-on activities, in a fun and engaging environment.
We try our best as a school and community to present our students with creative ways to express their knowledge. I am so excited to bring new opportunities to my students. I can't wait to inspire them to become more motivated learners and kinder citizens.
My Project
Throughout each unit in our reading curriculum there are activities and projects for students to complete. We are lacking the basic classroom materials for these projects. We need watercolor paper, paints, a multicolored ink pad, a stapler, staples, and glue sticks to bring these activities to life and increase students understanding and knowledge of what we are learning.
Most of these materials are not accounted for in our budget, but are required to fully access our reading program and take advantage of the hands on learning opportunities.
With these materials, our students will be able to complete their projects and we will be able to replace the dried out gluesticks and paints that are sitting on our shelves.
