Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Welcome to 1st grade! My first graders are energetic, busybodies who enjoy learning through reading, writing, and technology. Many of my students come from unique military backgrounds. Our classroom is shaped by a diverse group of active learners who are ready to explore the world around them. Each student that walks through my door brings with them their own unique individual learning needs. As a teacher and a lifelong learner, I take pride in setting high expectations for all of my students to reach proficient levels by mastering the skills set in front of them. I believe this can be done successfully by allowing student choices that build independence and target to meet individual needs.
My Project
In first grade, we are eager and ready to learn every day especially, when we have access to basic classroom supplies.
This year, my first graders are learning how to share their learning in various ways.
One way they have been able to share their learning that is not only helpful but also fun, is by displaying their knowledge for others to see. Basic supplies like Post-it notes, colored construction paper, age appropriate pencils, and markers will allow my class to have access to many fun ways to display learned information for others to read.
In order to help my students feel successful and confident in sharing their knowledge, our class needs supplies like paper, pencils, markers, and post-it notes. These supplies will give my students the chance to really shine and display all of the different things they have learned in 1st Grade!
