Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
On March 13 my students' world was turned upside down when we were told that our school would be closed for a few weeks. With very little notice I was able to gather materials for my students to take home.
Once we were told that we were not returning back to school I mailed them additional resources because the majority of my students do not have access to technology, or do not have internet service to be able to continue their learning at home.
However, those materials will not last them the rest of the year.
My Project
Many of my students come from very humble households where parents are not able to provide supplies that are needed during our Zoom meetings in order for them to be successful.
With your donation I will be able to create learning binders with materials that will contain dry erase worksheets that students can use to follow along during our Zoom lessons.
Students will also be given a writing journal that they can use to work on writing. I will also make math and ELA tool kits that will include games and activities to reinforce the content they are learning.
