Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a pre-k class in a title one district. Our children come from a variety of cultural backgrounds and socioeconomic statuses. Our class is made up of both general and special education students. We have children with various disabilities and learning disorders including ADHD, language delays and Autism.
They are an energetic group who love to draw, cut, glue, color and create new things on a daily basis.
They often create things for each other or their parents and use their creations as away of expressing their emotions.
My Project
As a new school year begins we as teachers begin to assess our inventory of supplies and figure out what needs to be replenished. For most pre-k teachers it's often the same items, glue sticks, crayons, markers, and play-dough. These are the items our children tend to use the most through out the year. We do send home a basic supply list on the first day of school but we know that many of our children come from homes that struggle financially and we hate to place an additional burden on their parents by requesting too much.
This project is simply a request for basic supplies to get our school year off on the right foot!
Our children use crayons and glue sticks almost daily and it can be hard to keep them stocked. Getting this project funded would make that a much easier task.
