This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students reside in a rural community where they receive 100% free lunch. They are always willing to learn new concepts and material. We keep learning and growing together as a family. My students are always looking for ways to create and express themselves while learning. They love to do new projects and writing in journals.
My students are challenged to connect all subjects in science.
They are expected to keep interactive notebooks and complete weekly projects. They love to explore their environment.
My Project
My science class uses a number of drawing and writing to incorporate arts and literacy in our classroom. They will create portfolios and make books with the construction and copy paper. They will use the pen and pencils for their journals. We do a project each week. They can use the paper with some of their family pedigrees. We will display the pedigrees by taping and gluing paper to our bulletin boards.
Students will also create frames with some of the other construction paper.
Students will do an oral presentation of their work. Students will continue to do interactive notebooks for future projects and concepts.
