This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I’m excited to share a new DonorsChoose project that has the power to make a real difference in the lives of my 2nd grade students. I teach in an In-Class Resource (ICR) classroom where students with disabilities learn alongside their general education peers in a supportive, inclusive setting.

At our school, 97% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, and many families face financial challenges that make it difficult to provide even the most basic school supplies.

While our families are deeply supportive, the cost of materials like pencils and crayons can add up quickly, especially for households with multiple children.

This project will help ensure that every student in my class has access to the tools they need to learn and participate fully in daily activities. Your donation will help us purchase:

Pencils and erasers

Crayons and markers

Scissors and glue sticks

Pencil boxes and other basic classroom essentials

These supplies are used every single day in our classroom and are critical for both academic tasks and creative projects. For my students—especially those with disabilities—having these materials readily available builds confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging.
