My students are highly energetic and eager to learn. They are 3rd graders who are excited to learn academic and social-emotional skills. Our small Title I school is located in an urban, high poverty neighborhood. 50% of my class are English Language Learners and 97% of them are also eligible for free/reduced-price lunch.
Many of the families cannot afford to provide school supplies for their children and the responsibility falls on their educators.

My Project
These basic school supplies will be passed out to students right at the beginning of the school year. Often, students in low income areas arrive at school without the basic supplies necessary to learn like pencils, notebooks, and paper. This project helps every student feel a part of the classroom, starting with the same supplies for every student!
As you may know, students tend to go through pencils and paper like they do candies!
Your donation will provide enough basic school supplies to eager, grateful students excited to begin 3rd grade. We will be using the supplies to develop writing, literacy, and math skills throughout the year. Thank you so much!
