Our Title I school has around 900 students who come from diverse backgrounds. A large portion of my school's population comes from poverty-stricken homes. They are kids with hopes and dreams of making their lives better and bettering the future of their families.
All of our students receive free lunch, and most speak another language at home.
Despite their challenges, they make remarkable progress throughout the year. These students will one day change the world, and I cannot wait to see how far they go!
My Project
This school year is almost over, but I am already thinking ahead for the next school year. I am requesting basic classroom supplies, such as crayons, erasers, glue, and journals. These resources will be used every day by the students. The journals will be used for their everyday writing work. The students draw a picture to match their writing, so I am requesting crayons. Everyone makes mistakes, so the eraser caps will come to the rescue! And sometimes we do work that requires glue sticks, so We are requesting them as well. It will help us tremendously to have these materials handy. Giving the students basic supplies will ensure that all of the students in my class have an equal start and have the supplies and materials that they need to learn to the best of their abilities.
