Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I strive to make my classroom as inclusive and diverse as possible. Representation in the classroom helps my students feel like they are a part of the community and the family I build within my classroom.
I teach ESL in a Title I school, where more than 90% of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch, and more than 60% are English language learners.
Our students face difficulties in and outside of school and I want to make our classroom a place where they can thrive.
My Project
I have always strived to make our classroom as welcoming as possible.
With a new school year right around the corner, we need school supplies so all our students can feel successful.
I do not want my students or families to have to feel stressed out about new supplies for the upcoming school year.
We need bins, markers, earbuds and more so we can build community supply buckets that everyone can use.
With the new markers and crayons, they will all have access to be able to bring color to the research project I have planned for them.
The earbuds will help them stay focused on our web-based programs.
