"Success is measured by effort." My students apply this quote as they have learned to put forth effort and be understanding and flexible with the resources our school can provide.
I currently have 30 very energetic and enthusiastic second graders that come to school with a kind heart and an amazing attitude.
We have as many as 10 different languages spoken at our school. Although these students don't have a lot of worldly possessions, their personalities and resilience certainly make up for it. What amazes me about my students, is that many of them face other challenges outside of the classroom and yet, they still manage to accomplish so much, without the support we take for granted. My students remind me each day what the important things in life truly are.
My Project
It has been such a wonderful year so far, but now our supplies are getting low. My students are in need of giant glue sticks since we do many hands-on projects that have now used them up. I would also like my class to become more organized with the use of colored folders. This will allow them to have a color for each subject and to keep their papers neat and safe when working on the week or month long projects. The sharpie pens will be used in art, for fine detailing and outlining. Your generous donation during these hard economic times will be a blessing!
