My students need items to make every day better with basic necessities, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, socks, t-shirts, deodorant and snacks.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
What can I say about my students? They are incredible in every way. My inner city, poverty-stricken students are appreciative, kind, generous, caring and loving. We come from a school where over 90% of my students receive free or reduced lunch and live in homes far below the poverty line but that doesn't stop them from being their best every day. These kiddos come to school every day ready to be their best, do their best and act their best. They are funny and lighthearted, and surprisingly all friends. They are lucky and happy to attend a school that is on the rise and supportive of their journey. I am thankful and grateful to be able to teach this awesome group!
My Project
This special group of students are in need of every day basics.
Items we take for granted, like soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, and toothbrushes, my students would be all too grateful for.
Clean socks, when my students come to school in dirty, already worn socks, shirts to replace their old ones that have holes in them. Tissues, disinfectants, Softsoap for our classroom sink, and other basic needs that my students can choose to bring home and use if they choose to. Finally, snacks to keep my kiddos full, when school is sometimes the only place they get a good meal. Warmth, comfort, and support is what my children need.
