I teach eighth graders in Durham, North Carolina. In my classroom students explore mathematical concepts, learn advanced problem-solving skills, and challenge themselves academically. I aim to prepare my students for the ever-changing world with a good mathematical foundation for high school. My eighth graders are teatering on the edge of adulthood and have big dreams for high school and beyond while still relishing the playfulness of youth. Many of my students will come to me below grade level and need extra resources and support to close educational gaps.
My Project
In my classroom we used colored copy paper to differentiate assignments and help with organizational skills for students who have a hard time keeping track of long-term assignments.
Also our classroom has a hard time keeping up with 21 century technology demands because of the limited outlets that are provided.
These surge protectors will help us charge our new tablets and make better use of the technology the school provides.
I use colored pencils to help students with good note-taking and during some learning activities. Unfortunately, they don't last forever and my limited supply is reduced to nubs. Please help us replenish these supplies so that we can start the new year off ready to learn!
