Help me give my students basic supplies of diapers, construction paper, cardstock, and laminate paper to help make their materials sturdier and to help work on potty training.
I teach at a Title I school where there are families from all over the world. Most of these families are low income which means that their children receive free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch provided by the school. This also means that our hardworking and caring families usually do not have extra money for school supplies and materials.
Our students are preschoolers with a variety of disabilities.
These disabilities include mainly autism, speech and language delays, and emotional disabilities. We also have a paired classroom that is filled with typically developing children who serve as peer models for their peers.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am in need of for my students already have a "home" or place in my classroom, but now I need your help in getting everything through my classroom door! The construction paper, laminate paper, and cardstock will be used to help make their boardmaker pictures and teaching materials sturdier because their little hands tend to rip these materials apart. The diapers will be used to help support those families that cannot afford to consistently replenish diapers for their children.
The donations to this project will help to protect many of our tasks and materials that are used day after day and year after year along with helping with the financial burden of buying diapers for our families.
It's a great way to help strengthen the cardstock and construction paper. It allows them to withstand exposure to water and rough handling of tiny hands. The diaper donations will allow several of my families to not have to worry about consistently replenishing their diapers for school while at the same time having to buy them for home as well. Thanks in advance for your support!
