Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The majority of my students at my school are from low-income households and many are English Language Learners (ELL), which means English is not their first language. In addition, my students have qualified for special education services and spend the majority of their day within a general ed classroom.
All my students have the ability to achieve academically.
Their learning may require information presented in manageable pieces, multiple opportunities at a slower pace, and may require accommodations and adaptations to meet their specific learning abilities and styles.
My Project
Every student within the U.S. has the opportunity to attend a public school for a free education. Unfortunately, not all of my families have the financial ability to provide the basic supplies, such as paper, pencils and erasers for their child's learning. Many of my families have to prioritize their financial means in order to keep a roof over their heads, clothes on their backs and provide food on their tables.
Basic school supplies will provide my students with unique needs an opportunity for academic success within their general ed classrooms.
And will also allow me to provide learning opportunities at their levels.
