I teach 7th and 8th grade math at a low income school in Northern Michigan. Most of my students come form single parent homes and are free and reduced lunch.
I'm blessed to have students are excited and willing to participate in their learning journey, regardless of their circumstances outside the classroom..
They ask great questions, love to play math games, and focus in when the lesson calls for it.
They are caring, kind, smart, and do a great job embracing each others strengths and weaknesses.
My Project
These are basic supplies my students will be excited to use in our classroom. Right now they use a lot of kleenex's (flu season) and to clean their whiteboard. They will be happy to use nice soft ones!
They also complain when others fart (middle school boys) so we need Febreeze to clean up those smells!
They will also be excited to have whiteboard erasers instead of kleenex or their hands!
We use whiteboards all the time, and need new expo markers for the ones that are drying out.
Some of these items are luxuries they can't afford at home, they would be very grateful for pencils and kleenex!
