Help me give my students the very basic supplies they need: dry erase markers, pencils, tissues, cleaning wipes, a clock and a stepping stool/high chair.
My school is a Title I school, with over 45% of the population receiving free or reduced-price lunch. Resilience is the word that can better describe the young people in my class.
My students love challenges and take part in every project I offer them, whether to volunteer and help others, tutoring their peers, or being involved in the Italian community in our city.
They work hard, are highly motivated (I step in when they are not!) and deserve to have access to the best learning opportunities.
My Project
All these materials are fundamental to help my students perform daily in my classroom. I always try to make sure they can have everything they need from pencils to tissues, and in particular now that the season will bring colds and coughs, I want to make sure their desks are hygienic and they do not get sick sharing them with so many people!
Our district is going through serious budget cuts and I am trying, together with many colleagues, to find ways to provide my students with what they need, thanks to your generosity!
We need the high chair/stepping stool to reach our highest shelves in our classroom library and also to use in class when I'm supervising their assessment, so I can see them, without disturbing their work.
