Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach special education. My students are unique learners who are gifted differently. They work hard to attain the skills they need for life beyond the classroom. They are becoming leaders and are growing academically and socially through individualized instruction and love. My students are special because they have to work harder to attain common goals others find easy. I love their willingness to try, make mistakes, and celebrate every small achievement. I love celebrating every milestone with my school children!
My Project
We use computers daily. The programs are designed for individualized instruction. My students can focus better with equal access to headsets. They will allow them the opportunity to focus and have good sound quality to work on letter sounds. We are learning to read and write. Magnetic letters and boards are great tools to enhance instruction. These letters are more durable and I can work with my whole group to spell out words. These tools will make a difference because they can manipulate words beyond the text and focus on individual lessons that are computer based. I am building my teacher toolbox to increase student engagement.
