Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are young, vibrant and eager to learn! They live in a lower income area that sometimes limits their opportunities in education, and in life in general. My goal is to make sure they get every opportunity possible to succeed in life.
As years go by, my relationships with families grow and I look forward to having the brothers and sisters of my past students.
Because a lot of life is unstable for most of my students, I try my best to continue to be active in their lives. As a result, we are like one big family.
My Project
Often times the families of my students struggle to provide basic necessities like clothes and food. School supplies are not a priority above these things. So, students do not come with all the requested supplies. I have done this project for two years now to ensure my students have the basic supplies necessary for the school year. With your help, these supplies which include glue, crayons, and pencils, will last all year round with enough to replenish the second semester if needed. It also helps them learn organization skills and responsibility as each student is accountable for their assigned suppliers. They will be able to write, color, glue, cut, erase and more because of you!
