Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"My students make me feel proud. People always say one person can't make a difference, but I have proof that these kids have made a difference." -Michelle Roosma
My students are awesome, five to six year old kindergartners.
Some of my students have never been to school, while some have had some preschool or transitional kindergarten.
My students love coming to our live Google Meet class meetings to learn. I love seeing and teaching them. I only wish I could offer them more! It is bliss to come to work each morning and be greeted by loving students on Google Meet.
My Project
Research has shown time and time again, that children who are exposed to music and art instruction do much better in reading, math, and science. They develop a greater curiosity about, understanding of, and appreciation for the subject matter being taught. We know that providing arts in education stimulates better behavior, personal esteem, and socialization skills.
As an educator, I believe that a hands-on, creative, and balanced approach to instruction is the most successful framework for developing skills in young children.
This is the reason why I requesting a class set of watercolor paint, so students can paint every other week in our live class meetings. I am also requesting a class set of glue sticks, paper mache frames, suncatchers and stain glass frames so they can creative vivid beautiful art masterpieces to display at their home. Thank you in advance for your support and donation to help my students excel at drawing, painting, and being artistic during distance learning
