I am a PE teacher, teaching 6 sessions weekly and I also am the football coach and a baseball coach. I wear lots of hats!
Thanks to grants by Drew Brees, the NFL, and private donors, we were able to renovate the locker rooms (boys and girls) and to build a new concession stand/handicapped accessible restroom and pressbox.
We will get the keys to the concession stand within a month.
These new features constitute a great incentive to motivate the football team to succeed. The team has approximately 40 members and I teach approximately 150 kids in PE.
My Project
Baseball training is about creating stability in the core of the player, gain rotational power, build fast-twitch muscle fibers, encourage shoulder stability and mobility and, most importantly, develop leg strength.
Training will help my players make themselves better baseball players.
The items that I requested, the four power sticks and the different kinds of balls -- soft, smaller -- will also enable the players to hit better. In particular, the jugs bucket of small balls will teach the hitter to track ball from release point to impact zone.
