Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a Title I teacher, baseball and football coach in Baytown, Texas. Being a Title I school, most of our students come from low-income households. A lot of our students are eligible for free or reduced lunches.
Like many areas of Houston, some of our students were hit hard by Hurricane Harvey.
While some were fortunate enough not to get too hard, others were not as fortunate. Our campus itself had some water come into our gym.
We are a small 6A school and have a lot of great students and student-athletes. Being a 6A program we go against some of the top programs in the great state of Texas.
My Project
Our athletes love baseball and are using it as an outlet to get away from problems in and around them. Some are still dealing with the effects from Harvey.
For baseball teams, I am in need of a few things to help get our season going.
We will need 5 new rakes. This will help shape up our infield and get it to the perfect playing condition for our athletes. Especially after all the rain we have had recently.
These are great products that will help take our athletic program and baseball team to a whole new level. It will allow our athletes to hopefully put aside all the devastation they went through.
