My students need a hands-on learning experience to better enhance their learning. There are so many abstract concepts that we learn in third grade. To fully understand these concepts, students need multiple outlets to learn with. WE need privacy partitions, math manipulatives library and more.
My students are creative, hard-working, open-minded kids! They are full of questions and love to learn through exploration. My students are brilliant and love to work on engaging projects that challenge them to think outside the box.
They thrive when they work with hands-on, concrete material that helps better their education.
They work hard to extend their thinking beyond what is asked of them. In math, we have such abstract ideas so using these great resources will really help them to grasp every concept.
We are constantly working hard in my classroom and trying our best to master each skill. Third grade is a big year for students, but we are up for the challenge. We are ready to have a wonderful school year and grow smart students who love to learn!
My Project
Math has so many abstract ideas that are hard for my students to grasp. Using hands-on materials allows my students to manipulate what they are learning and get a deep understanding of the concept. Hands-on activities also provide differentiation and multiple learning styles to meet the needs of all my students.
These materials will be used for my class to build a concrete and lasting learning experience as the students grow through the year.
The Multiplication and Division Kits will expand students minds to understand how these operations work and how to do it. The Magnetic Write and Wipe Board will be used as a station during math rotations daily. The manipulatives will be changed to target the TEK we are learning at that time. The Fraction Number Line Write and Wipe Boards will be used for students to be able to have a visual representation and will also aide in equivalency! Privacy Partitions will be used for much more than just testing. Students like to have a quiet space to themselves when working with partners or individually. This helps them to stay focused and produce their very best work. All of these items will help my students to be as successful as they possibly can! They will soar being able to have a year with a hands-on learning experience.
