My classroom consists of 60 students divided between 4 different classes that include Animal Science, Small Animal, Beef Science and Survey of Agriculture. My students come from various backgrounds and upbringing; I honestly believe I have some of the best students there is!
My students are interested and thrive with hands-on activities and are always eager to learn new things!
In my classroom my students work together in small groups to create projects that all students will be able to benefit from later in life!
My Project
All students love hands-on activities where they can learn by doing and get out of their seats! The Canine IV leg will allow students to work in small groups to insert an IV in small animals and set up an IV bag. The Melissa and Doug Stuffed Dogs will allow students to get hands-on experience with proper ways to restrain dogs, muzzling, pull blood for testing, giving intramuscular and subcutaneous injections and many more hands-on skills used in the animal clinic.
These activities will allow students to experience hands-on skills that they could use in the Animal Agriculture industry, as well as everyday experiences with small animal ownership.
