Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is made up of 20 amazing learners. They come to class ready to learn despite the obstacles they face prior to stepping foot in the classroom.
We are a Title I school and almost all of my students are English language learners.
My students love coming to school because I make learning fun. My students work hard each and every day. Unfortunately, they need supplies that I can’t provide on my own.
This grant would support the entire first grade team including almost 100 STUDENTS!
My Project
"Look for the bare necessities. The simple bare necessities."- from Disney's The Jungle Book
Every year I try and provide all of the general supplies for my classroom.
This includes pencils, erasers, notebooks, and more. Unfortunately, this can get quite expensive. To try and conserve paper we use dry-erase boards daily. My students use the markers everyday and they dry out throughout the year and need to be replenished often.
I'm also requesting pencils, Playdoh, and tokens. The Playdoh will be used throughout the year to help teach students about shapes and fractions. It will also be used as a positive reward. The tokens will be used to reward students for positive behavior. Once students have earned 6 tokens they can go to my classroom store!
By helping to fund this project, you will be putting important supplies into the hands of children. These materials will allow my students to master skills they need to be successful lifelong learners.
