Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
About ninety percent of our student population receives Title One funding. Majority of our constituents do not know what that translate to on an economic scale. My students depend on the school and their teacher to meet their basic needs especially when times are challenging. To students, adults are suppose to be their backbone. Students see their classroom teacher as family. I like that.
My school's community is 4.4 square miles.
It is made up of a diverse population that share the common denominator of academic success for their children. My students are happy to attend a learning environment. Student attendance is about ninety-eight percent. Students report to school to learn, to work hard, and to socialize. Parental involvement is present, but with guidance, the effort and energy can be properly channeled. Parents are open to suggestions on the best support for their child's academic success. Most importantly parents believe in their community school and trust that their child's teacher has their child's interest at heart. I do.
My Project
These materials will make a difference in our students' learning and improve their school lives, because the Table Top Pocket Chart Stands are to focus on during small group instruction and to display key information to focus on while on task or week. The Privacy Partitions allow students to focus on task during assessments to prevent onlookers distraction. It also helps to keep the classroom tables and chairs stationary while students are on task. The Magnetic Sentence Strip Pockets are to identify the learning targets and information to zoom in on the board. The crate is to transport materials to and from meetings. The sign holder will be use during small group instruction, so students know when to continue with independent work.
