Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

On the Springdale Bulldogs football team, we receive athletes from all walks of life. Our diverse population consists of White, Black, Hispanic, Marshallese, and more. Despite the times, our kids have found a way to not just co-exist but create friendships with each other and hopefully lifelong bonds. They work with one another while learning, volunteering in our community, and competing.

Through football, I hope to teach my students that they are learning through hard work and dedication and that they can be successful regardless of their race, upbringing, or social status.

Our kids have been able to compete at national events and hold their heads up high knowing that they gave their best effort and performed beyond anyone's expectations. Our students have learned that not only does luck favor the prepared, but that through hard work we can create our own luck.

My Project

Our High School has been around as long as most people have been alive and so has the equipment in the weight room.

New Barbells will allow us to teach our football players proper techniques and hand placement in many different lifts.

There are multiple grip widths in the bench press and it is essential to have proper bar placement when doing squat exercises. New barbells allow for our football players to feel the differences in the bar and create a safer atmosphere for the players to work on getting stronger. The new style of barbell allows for our athletes to safely do hang clean and power clean with the new bearings that are formed into the bars rather than the welded style of the past.
