Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I get the amazing opportunity to introduce all the students in the school to art. I want to ignite their imaginations and talents. This is a new project for my school, which means supplies are limited and it is a start-up classroom.

My goal is to introduce my students to various art forms, artists, and jobs that incorporate art.

My students are so creative and come up with some of the best art creations. I want to expose them to as much art as possible in all the various forms.

My Project

The dowel rods will be used to help the students with two projects.the first project is learning to macrame' a wall hanging using the dowel rod as the anchor and macrame' the yarn into a beautiful owl.

The felt because of the vibrant and range of colors will be used to make theme banners for their families.

The students will be able to express in pictures made from felt their family history and important events and even important words to them.

Being able to have something to hang on your wall and show off to your family and friends gives one a sense of pride and accomplishment.
