My students need a 4 string electric bass guitar to add to our guitar class. We have some acoustic guitars and electric guitars. My Marvelous Mini Musicians would be super excited to learn the bass too!

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come into my music classroom once a week full of energy, excitement, and a passion for music. Unfortunately, they face many struggles in their attempt to achieve academically. Most are impoverished, raised by someone other than their parents, and reside in a dangerous community full of crime, gangs, drugs, and violence. Many don't have their most basic physical and emotional needs met.

The two free meals and one snack my students receive each day at school may be all they eat that day.

Many have parents who are incarcerated or addicted to drugs/alcohol or are mentally unable to provide for the needs of their child. However, many of them do succeed! I am so proud of each one when they reach and surpass their academic goals!

My Project

If this project is funded, my Marvelous Mini Musicians will be able to experience playing the bass guitar along with the acoustic and electric guitars they have already begun learning to play! My Rockin' Rollin' Guitar Club is for the advanced guitar students who are ready for a new challenge. With the many acoustics we have acquired and the few electrics we have, a Bass Guitar will provide the contrasting tone quality and harmonics needed to take my Marvelous Mini Musicians guitar playing to a new level!
