Bang on Our Drums All Day!

Help me give my students drumsticks to use with our DrumFit balls and Jumbo Speed Stacks to encourage Cooperation.

My Students

My students are active, curious and eager to learn something new. Our student population is about 70% ELL, mostly from South East Asia and we are 100% free/reduced lunch status.

With that said, Vento students come to Physical Education class ready to move and have lots of questions as to what we have planned for the day.

They are enthusiastic as soon as they step foot into the gym. At the end of the day, I am grateful to work with these special kids!!

My Project

This equipment will make a difference in my students' learning by offering new experiences. The kids love our new DrumFit unit but we are using old rhythm sticks that are chipped and splintered. By using actual drums sticks they will be more successful and will feel like the rockstars they deserve!

I try to offer new experiences for my students because they come from a life a poverty and many have endured some sort of traumatic event in their short lives.

I love to see the sparkle and joy they have with all the new activities we have been doing in class. The Jumbo Speed Stacks are great for teaching cooperation and coordination. The equipment would enhance our Speed Stack unit thats already established. Speed Stacking helps with hand eye coordination, reading, attention, and focus in other areas outside the gym.

My students are so deserving of magical moments that can happen on a daily basis in a safe environment. I try to make each day special when they walk through my gym doors. Their smile makes it all worth it!
