My students are creative, clever and very spontaneous. My focus from the minute they walk in the door of my classroom is on their potential and growth while they are with me. I love that I can control their experience during the school day in a positive manner. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hopeful to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence. My students are an astounding group of children.
They come in everyday excited to learn and to see what fun activities we are going to do together.
Many of my students come from very little and don’t always have what they need for that day. There are many students in our Title One school and getting supplies for each one of them can sometimes be a challenge.
My Project
Our students are constantly moving around the room but when sitting in their seats, sometimes their little feet just can't stop moving. If they are in desks, their feet always gravitate towards the desk in front of them. This usually results in papers falling out of desks and class time is disrupted. In our project, we are asking for elastic bands for our students' chairs. These bands offer an outlet for legs and feet that won't disrupt others. It will make them more comfortable and give our more active students an easy way to move a part of their bodies when they are asked to be seated during work time.
We are also asking for dry erase clipboards with markers and erasers.
Because we move from our desks to center areas and the carpet, we are always looking for something to press down on. These dry erase boards are the perfect solution.
Last, but not least, every classroom can use Clorox wipes.
