My third-grade students learn in a Title I school near a military base. Many of our students have experienced some type of family transition (single parent home, blended family, divorce/separation, low income, etc). The majority of my school receives a free or reduced-price lunch. The students at my school are all hard workers. They come to school every day, ready to learn.
My third-grade students are a very active bunch and are capable of doing amazing things this year.
My students set goals for themselves and they achieve them. They are smart, kind, and caring. They work hard as individuals and come together as a team.
My students are eager to learn and love whole group activities that allow them to listen to stories, cooperate with peers and attend to technology lessons. Our community has a high population of military families. We have a supportive community and administration, however, there are fewer funds for classroom resources.
My Project
My students have worked so hard this year! We are requesting items that are "out of stock" or have been used and abused in our classroom! Some of the items that we are requesting are bandaids, erasers and batteries. The bandaids will be used to heal those everyday cuts and scrapes. Many of our technology tools use batteries, including our hot dots pens. These math pens seem to always need a change of batteries.
We use whiteboards everyday in our classroom!
Our personal whiteboards desperately need new erasers, because the ones we have are falling apart. With these new erasers, we won't have to waste tissues and use our hands to wipe away our boards. This can lead to issues when we are trying to solve math problems.
The final item we are requesting is a laminator. The laminator will be used to make end of the year keepsakes for the children. The stapler is also needed to staple various papers. Thank you for supporting our classroom.
