This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach middle and high school band in a high-needs community. The school district is very small and in an urban setting. Our students all receive free lunch and breakfast. Even though the school and community have financial difficulties, my students come to school eager and ready to learn. The financial hardships do not interfere with their desire to learn and be the best they can be.
I am very fortunate to teach in a district where the students want to excel and work very hard.
My Project
My band has auditioned and been selected to perform in Walt Disney World! We are traveling to Disney in November and my students are super excited. Only one or two of my students have been to Disney before. We will be performing in the Main Street Parade.
We need shirts to wear as a group while we walk around the park.
The shirts will identify each member as a part of our group. The shirts will also make it very easy for my chaperones to keep everyone together while moving through the parks. We are so excited to perform in Disney and these Sto-Rox Disney shirts are going to look amazing.
