My Students

My students come from low-income, high-poverty backgrounds and face many challenges in and out of the classroom. School, especially gym class and extra-curricular activities, are a place for them to escape their unfortunate surroundings and have fun in a safe, learning environment.

Most of my students come storming into PE class every day with giant smiles on their faces asking, "What are we doing today coach?!" They cannot wait to see what I have planned for them, no matter if it is team handball, floor hockey, volleyball, soccer, dance, or step aerobics.

They just want the space to move and good PE equipment to use! The same can be said for sport practices. They are thrilled to be there and ready to work hard to get better.

My Project

Please help in providing my physical education department with an assortment of dodgeballs and kickballs to play with. Our kids love to play scatterball, spiderball, and prisonball. The only problem is the balls do not last long. The covers constantly rip and then become useless. These new balls will be used all the time in PE class to get the kids up and moving. Nothing is better than seeing our students run around the gym and smiling while getting their 30 to 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity in. Please help in providing our kids the enjoyment of PE and fitness!!!
