My students need lots of choices at recess and PE time. In this time of severe budget cuts, physical activity supplies are low on the list of school needs. Yet we all recognize the importance of developing a love of physical activity at an early age. This "Create-a-Beam" provides a fun choice for our young students and will help them develop body awareness, balance, and coordination.

Kindergartners are a creative and active bunch, particularly as they develop body awareness and control. Knowing how important movement is for young children, we have 2 recesses and PE each day. We are always on the lookout for fun ways for our youngsters to practice balance and coordination while having fun.

Unfortunately, in this climate of severe school budget shortfalls, PE equipment and supplies end up at the end of most wishlists. However, we know how critical it is for children to develop a love of physical activity at an early age.

Create-A-Beam would provide endless design possibilities as our students have fun developing their body awareness, coordination and balance. These critical physical skills promote positive feelings of success, which can carry over into the academics of the classroom.

Your gift would impact all 100 of our kindergartners, providing them with a creative and fun way to improve their sense of body awareness and control while setting the stage for a lifelong love of physical activity.
