My second grade students attend a charter school that provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers, and a safe learning environment. Our goal is to prepare our students for success in life through our unique Micro Society program. Our school is the only Micro Society school in the state. Students participate in a legislature, establish their own ventures and agencies, and pay taxes. We work to ensure that all students have a voice and choice in their education. We strive for all of our students to become individuals.
Our students are a unique blend of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
They are creative and full of wonderful ideas. By fostering their creativity, we are hopeful to inspire our earliest learners to continue on a path of innovation.
My students are avid readers! Daily, you can find them using their book bags and looking for new books in the bins. Due to the daily use, our current bags and bins are needing replacement.
My students love to read!
We use our book bags for independent reading time, reading to neighbors, and to store our reading notebooks. We use the book bins to hold our classroom library. Students are able to use the library and fill up their bags with books that are of interest to them. By having an organized library and book bags, they will be able to find and access books easily. It is my hope to create an organized and calm learning environment for all students to thrive as readers.
