Backpacks for Hunger

Help me give my students this prepackaged food that they can use to feed themselves with this pandemic. It would be great if my students did not have to worry about what they will eat.

My Students

My students reside in rural Iowa. Interstate 35 is about 30 minutes south of Des Moines, located in southern Iowa. Many of my students come from low income households. My students include first graders, but K-4 includes the students who will benefit from this project. They are sweet and deserving kids!

My Project

We are requesting snacks, crackers, fruit snacks and other food. This project is going to be used to help feed students who rely on the school for food during the school year. My school has many students who have free or reduced price lunch and who also receive backpacks of food to eat over the weekend.

Our food bank for these backpacks is running low, so we are needing some resources to replenish what we send home.

These food options need to be items that students can fix for themselves at home. I have added many healthy snacks that students can prepare themselves.
