My students' enthusiasm encourages me each day. Their excitement toward learning is uplifting. I am encouraged by their drive to take on new tasks on a daily basis. When the students arrive at school each day, they are looking forward to each and every new challenge that comes their way. Many of my students live in a rural setting that makes learning difficult, but they work hard at overcoming any difficulties they may have at home.
My students are active, smart, and funny kids with a passion for learning and having fun.
I want to give my students the opportunity to be creative, think critically, collaborate, and communicate. Through these projects, my students have been exposed to new and different areas of learning, which have encouraged them to achieve beyond what they thought possible.
My Project
My students have stated they would like the opportunity to work on Science at home. Currently, I work with over 170 science students and we have eight STEAM backpacks. I would like to create at least seven more backpacks that also access more students' personal interests. Many of my students are curious about science and the environment around them, but often do not have the materials or means to explore it outside of the school setting. Our classroom project will create seven different science backpacks the students can check out of classroom. With the Ozobot and computer kit students will be allowed to explore coding in different and unique ways. The LittleBits will allow my students to unleash creativity, discover thousands of inventions, take challenges, and along with our kindle purchased earlier, control their inventions wirelessly,

Science learning will be extended beyond the classroom and impact the students and their families. Not only will students be able to extend their understanding of materials taught in school, but they will be allowed to make new connections and discoveries of their own choosing. We have included new kits that work on understanding the environment and world around us. This will also be a new addition to our science backpacks. These science backpacks truly give them control of their learning and allow them to demonstrate their creativity and knowledge with family members. Every science backpack will increase their ability to apply their knowledge to current and future concepts.
